How we verify.

1 · Every figure is sourced or labeled

A number appears in a briefing in exactly two forms: cited, with the source listed in the "Sources & verification" block at the end of the piece, or explicitly labeled an estimate, with the reasoning stated. A claim that can be neither sourced nor honestly labeled is cut. There is no third category.

2 · Signal Reports come from our own archive

Signal Reports must identify their dataset, collection window and limitations. Historical search-demand observations are not evidence of current investment, transactions or future growth. Collection gaps must be disclosed; we do not currently claim an uninterrupted live feed. Readers may ask about the evidence behind a published report through the contact form.

3 · Accountable bylines and disclosed automation

Human-written pieces carry a real person's byline. Automated pieces use the institutional Havana Economic Review Research Desk byline and are visibly labeled as AI-assisted scenario analysis. We do not use fictional people, invented credentials, or silently attribute automated text to the editor.

4 · AI-assisted and source-gated

Research, drafting and publication may be automated. Automated work must pass source, scenario-labeling, cadence, build and release checks before deployment. Present facts require verification; future conditions must be labeled as scenarios, not forecasts. If a candidate does not clear those gates, it does not ship. Gaps in the archive are acceptable; fabrications are not.

5 · Corrections are public

When we get a fact wrong, the piece is corrected and the correction is noted on the piece itself. Material errors are acknowledged, not silently edited. Corrections can be submitted through the contact form and are read directly by the editor.

6 · The pre-relaunch archive was retired

On July 18, 2026, this publication relaunched under the standard above. Articles published before that date did not meet it. Several carried fictional bylines and unverifiable figures, and were removed rather than grandfathered. Their URLs now redirect here. We consider enforcing the standard against our own archive the strongest evidence that we mean it.

7 · Disclosed interest

HER is a Cuba Strategic Partners publication. CSP holds Cuba-related digital assets; that interest is disclosed on every page footer and on the about page. Nothing here is investment advice.

8 · Present conditions are evidence, not an invitation

HER may report on current ports, sanctions, infrastructure and policy when they help readers understand the transition or the assets and liabilities a future free Cuba could inherit. That reporting is not an operational guide to doing business with the present regime. We do not solicit transactions, recommend counterparties, or frame state-controlled activity as an investment opportunity. Authorized humanitarian activity and independent private enterprise must be distinguished from support for sanctioned or state-controlled actors.

Links to CSP resources must help answer the reader's question. We do not add keyword links or require reciprocal links to manufacture search authority. Relevant primary sources remain the evidence for a claim, regardless of who owns the websites involved.
